 WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REVEAL ABOUT JESUS’ BIRTH?  [2]

          We learn that Jesus was to be born in Bethlehem of Judea.  This was prophesied hundreds of years before His birth, in Micah 5:2, and fulfilled in Matthew 2:5-6.  We know that Jesus was born when Augustus Caesar ruled the Roman empire and Herod the Great was king in Judea (Matthew 2:1; Luke 2:1).  We know that Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a stable, not an inn (Luke 2:7).  Angels announced His birth to the shepherds who journeyed to see Him (Luke 2:15-16)   [more next week]
