 WHAT DOES THE BIBLE REVEAL ABOUT JESUS’ BIRTH?  [1]

          The Bible reveals, first of all, that Jesus existed in the form of God and with God from all eternity (John 1:1-4).  Second, His descent to earth was foretold by some of the prophets in the Old Testament (2 Samuel 7:12-17).  Third, we know that Jesus came to earth by being born of a woman.  Isaiah 7:14 tells us that “the virgin will conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”  Jesus was virgin-conceived and virgin-born without benefit of a man.  We know that the angel Gabriel was sent to a virgin named Mary to tell her she would have a child and that He would be the Son of God.   [more next week]
