 MISSING THE MARK   [1]

          On his final shot in the 50-meter three-position rifle final on Sunday, August 22, 2004, Matt Emmons needed only to get near the bull’s eye to win the gold medal.  He took careful aim, fired and hit the bull’s eye.  Unfortunately, it was the wrong target.  In the Bible, the idea of missing the mark is called SIN.  It is used in Romans 3:23 to describe humanity’s problems: “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  God’s glory is the bull’s eye, but you and I continue to fall short of it.  (more next week)
