TRUTH FOR TODAY

 WATCH YOUR MOUTH  [1]

          “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29).  A modern rendition of this passage might be: “Think before you speak.”  Playing off the word THINK, notice the following acronym.

          I should speak when it is True.  “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord” (Proverbs 12:22).

          I should speak when it is Helpful. If my words are not helpful, why speak at all?  Our words should be a part of the solution, not the problem.    (more next week)
