 PROPHECIES ABOUT JESUS   [3]

          A second Old Testament prophecy concerns the birthplace of the Messiah.  Micah 5:2 says, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”  This was written in the 8^th century B.C.  Matthew quotes this prophecy in Matthew 2:6 and applies it to the birth of Jesus.  Here again is an inspired interpretation of an Old Testament prophecy.   (more next week)
