PROPHECIES ABOUT JESUS   [2]

          Two important Old Testament prophecies relate to the birth of Jesus.  The first is Isaiah 7:14 – “Behold, the virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Immanuel.”  This prophecy was written over 700 years before the birth of Jesus.  Matthew quotes this prophecy in Matthew 1:22-23 and says it was fulfilled when Jesus was born.  Thus, you have an inspired interpretation of an Old Testament prophecy.   (more next week)
