WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?  [2]

          A simple way to summarize the content of the “gospel” is that it contains (1) Facts to believe, (2) Commands to obey, and (3) Promises to enjoy.  Among the facts to believe are: Jesus was crucified for our sins (1 John 4:9-10), Jesus was raised from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:4ff), Jesus is exalted as King and Savior (Acts 2:33-36), and Jesus is coming back again (Acts 1:9-11).  These statements are historically true because they are found in the New Testament, God’s inspired and infallible word.   (more next week)
